is low humidity in grow room a problem?

Recommended Posts

Hi dudes and dudettes,

Ive finally got a bagseed growing away in my new grow cabinet. Until recently I was concerned about the possibility of high humidity in my grow cabinet but with the oscillating fan keeping everything moving and the exhaust fan working nicely, my hygrometer always say 20% now which i take to be its lowest level of display of humidity. So I thought I would ask, does low humidity pose any potential problems?

cheers

Hey Morph, I usually find a Humidity of around 30-40-50% perfect when they are around the size of mine at the moment, as they get bigger the humidity will rise(60-70-80%) and if it doesn't, just use a humidifier. I found my white strains prefer high humidity when young, but I had to keep it lower as my Cupboard changes air REAL fast. If you can adjust I would say higher humidity when they are young and lower humidity as you flower so you don't get bud rot/Mould. Low humidity can slow growth a bit, if your worried, just PH adjust some water and every now and then give the plants a misting with a spray bottle (being careful NOT to spray on the globe!) or buy a lil Humidifier. Hope that helps =), Later. GH72

Thanks GH - I will give the occasional misting of the plant a go. By the way, how old were your plants when you took them out of the humidicrib thing and bared them to the light?

cheers,

No Worries Morph =), Because i grew from seed I Pulled them out of the crib after they got there first set of leaves, many due to the fact the roots were already growing through the bottom of the Jiffy.lol.

For Clones, until they look really healthy and Vigorous and you can see some roots emerging from the rock wool of jiffy.

remember to leave the vents open a bit on the Crib so they get some fresh air, stale high humidity air is not real great for them, need some fresh =).

Hope you got it sorted and sweet. Best wishes. GH72
