#Wanted some tips on my setup#

Recommended Posts

those blue bulbs dont work, blue may be the spectrum they want, but you actually get more blue light out of cool white tubes, these blue coated tubes have been ripping people off for years, they will reduce the output of your light, and plants need more colour spectrums than blue to grow anyways. They make house plants look nice, but in the end they don't grow anything.

Stick with cool white and warm light CF's or tubes. No grolux shit. Hydro shops are evil rip-off bastards.

mate its not unusual for seedlings to spring up tall and thin like that to begin with. Keep it propped up, within a week or so it should be fine. Get those fluoros real close and a gentle oscillating fan will work wonders. I've bought super cheap 12V oscillating fans but found they are noisy and break down easily. Spend a little more and get a decent 240V fan.

Also I'm not sure if its even necessary to have an oscillating fan in a small cupboard grow. As long as you plants are swinging in the breeze so to speak they should be fine, so a straight fan should do the job. They are cheaper an fit more easily into a cupboard.

oz make sure its got a warranty with it of at least 6 months.....or you arent doing yourself any favours....

some ballasts are warranted for 1-2 years...and thats good piece of mind for the price you are paying....

Id pay the extra 100 and get the new one....with a philips bulb

your price should be 190 with a nova shade and philips bulb...it costs me 250 for a 600 hps....or 260 with a nova shade (a larger one)

me thinks you are paying too much...shop around if you can

but a good idea to get the 400 hps....
