Does the time of the year matter?

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is my first post.

I'm going to start growing weed soon, but I don't know anything about growing any kind of plant. I'm going to grow indoors and I want to know if the time of the year affects the weed plant when grown indoors.

If it does, how does it affect the plant? Will it produce a higher yield and/or potency if it is grown at the right time? Or will my plant just not grow at all if I don't grow it at the right time?

Hey Ganja, you use the lights to tell the plant what it should be doing, the outside world has no bearing on what happens to an inside grow under lights. (Maybe Temps,a bit). I prefer to get all my growing and harvest done before summer hits, so I don't have to run the air conditioner flat out to keep them cool. Then I just pop a couple of summer girls in the garden and drink beers.lol. Good Luck Mate. Gh72

Hi there Ganja2763,

I agree with GH, inside you control the environment.

You grow at 18/6, you change to 12/12, you are telling the plant what to do and you determine the timing.

Temperature is very important not just in your room but also what you feed your plant. I never used to use a fish tank heater in my tub and in the colder months my growth rate was very slow. A little warmth in my nutes and my growth rate goes mental. The heat from MH and HPS bulbs is high, and this will keep your room warm enough. Where I am, the nights are freezing, so I have my lights on at night to maintain the warmth in the room. I have exhaust fans to maintain the heat around 25-30C. I know some people plant with the moon cycles, but the timing is all up to you.

Have a good look around this site, there is a huge resource of excellent information here.

Use it, ask questions. No matter what the question, somebody will have the experience and knowledge to answer it. Ask.

Everybody's setups, systems and ideas are different. Some will be relevant to you, some will not, but if you follow the basics you can't go wrong, then make improvements as you go for your system.

Experiment a bit, its the best way to learn.

Do not expect to have a killer crop first up. If it happens its a bonus, but expecting it can lead to a disappointment and despair.

Good luck with it all. We all had to start somewhere

Be safe and don't tell no one, one loose tongue, one 'show off' moment can be your downfall. I know, it happened to me.

The last thing you want is those horrible men in their disgusting blue uniforms to come knocking, from a big mouth, be it yours or somebody elses. The less people who know the better.

Just some advise
