Allowing the sale of bongs and related equipment, which clearly are used for illegal drug use, shows that the Victorian Labor Government, together with the Greens Party, refuses to acknowledge the overwhelming scientific evidence demonstrating the harmful impact of cannabis on users' health.

So let's agree that "clearly" bongs are for smoking Cannabis , an illegal drug ... and lets for a moment 'pretend' that all the other anti-canna crap mentioned in the article is true too ...

Well as mentioned , anyone can make a bong out of almost anything , anytime ... regardless of any laws. A plastic drink bottle being the most likely culprit. Heating plastic (and rubber garden hose ; try Ban that fuckers! ) releases extremely toxic chemicals which can and will be then breathed in , even with low heat and as plastic ages it also releases toxins (and sometimes excess hormones as we now know) into the air and into liquids. Glass does NOT produce these toxins and therefore , as a smoking implement , is many many times safer to use than anything else as a waterpipe.

How exactly is BANNING quality and safe glass (and other) implements in any way "Harm Minimization" of any sort ... if that indeed is what they are concerned with!?!?!? People are going to smoke regardless ofc.

And no type or amount of story about someone dying from excess pharmaceutical drugs (because of Cannabis!?) or addict scientists shooting opiates (because of Cannabis!?) is going to convince ANYONE that they themselves are an idiot and cannot think for themselves and see through this type of stupid noteven-rhetorically styled pathetic propagandist argument. der.

 

I won't even bother to point out the rest of the flawed idiotic comments in the article ... just to say that there is at least a handful of scientific studies that debunks each of the tired Wowserism claims therein.

Cannabis is good for us ... let us consume it in the safest possible of ways according to our OWN desires ... What really gets to me about the banning of bongs is this;

 

We as tax payers pay for hypodermic needles to be given to people freely to inject substances such as heroin, amphetamines etc, yet we pay for bongs, and yet we don't leave them lying around for children to step on but we're the ones being targeted. If they are going to ban bongs then perhaps they should look at stopping the free distribution of needles too.

I find it quite interesting that there's nowhere on DACA's website that actually says who these people are. Smart move on their behalf obviously, because it hides their true intentions and vested interests.

 

I mean, one has to be wary of a group that, under its mission statement, says it supports:

The scientific evidence that marijuana is a harmful and dangerous drug and must remain illicit.

 

How can it possibly provide balanced, proper debate if it, by its own admission, will only support the "scientific evidence" that supports its end cause, while disregarding all other evidence to the contrary? A rhetorical question obviously because it's quite clear this mob does not want to broach the subject in an objective manner.
