worm farm tips

Recommended Posts

the little worms are thriving and happy.

just put the second box on top and they are migrating up to the new food and bedding.

i haven't used any chemical fertilizer since i started harvesting worm tea by running water through the farm once a week. i dilute this tea about 3 to 1 water to tea. the plants i have seemed to like it better diluted. there's parsley, oregano, spinach as well as the obvious.

i have also harvested a small amount of castings and put them directly into the pots. they are pretty amazing soil conditioners. they really increase the water holding capacity of the soil and stay moist even in the direct hot sun for days.
