Some questions

Recommended Posts

Hi I have two plants growing, each under their own 1000w light.

It takes a while for the veg / flower cycle.

I am wondering about keeping some clones under fluero or maybe 400W light...

I am thinking about growing them slowly under the weak light, then once the two plants in the main grow areas are finished, I can put the half grown plants into the chambers, finish veg, and save myself some time off the beggining where it usually takes a while in the first few weeks of veg.

Just wondering if it sounds like a good idea to have a few plants growing slowly under weak light, then when the other ones are done move them under 1000w? Should the plants grow fine like this after they have been growing slowly?

If it doesn't sound feasable, then I might just keep one mother plant under the light for clones, for as long as it will live.

I want to know if the plant will adapt to the new growth rate after being grown "slow" and whether it will still be able to compare favourably to yield with the other plants once given sufficient time under strong light?

question: If it is feasable, what sort of light would people recommend? Remember I will generally have to wait for the veg + flower cycle to finish, so I would like some mild growth during that time... Do people recommend 400w for this? Or will fluero lights keep it going? Say under 24/7 light?

Should the plants grow fine like this after they have been growing slowly?

Yep they should be fine... the rate of growth is tied to the amount of light available for photosynthesis...

I've seen people dedicate a 400W light per plant but never seen it done with 1000W... they must be some huge plants... What sort harvest do you achieve with the set up?

Thanks for the advice guys...

Well what happened was we had planned to do 4 plants but we had some problems so ended up with two plants which we put in big pots.

So we are just using the equipment we have available.

I'll let you know what the yield is :scratchin:

But it is slow in the beggining stages having just one plant per light.

This is why I think having more stages is a good idea, to bypass the slow beggining of the cycle.

So I'm sort of really dividing veg into two phases, where in the 2nd phase I will use the 1000w.

From what i get all u want is to cut down on the time that u have to veg for. So what ya need is a sepertae area lit by a 400 watt mh and keep ya clones n vegplants in there. After the other 2 u have in flower r finished there is no reason they shouldnt be big enough to put straight under the 1000s n flip straight away. That way every 8 weeks u have a harvest.

And if ya plants growin slow under a 1000mh something wrong they should be pumpin under that :scratchin:

Thanks again for the info everyone!

Yeah I think I will end up always having a bunch of clones that I keep growing, the ones I don't need I will sell / dispose of.

At the moment I'm not set up proper. I can't do too much cause at any time they might call an inspection etc, its a big hassle to dismantle it all etc

But I'm going for a loan soon, should have a simple house in couple of months (4-5 months at longest)...

So I am just thinking towards how I will set up that...

I am thinking of going as high as 5000w, wonder if the electricity company will get suss with that coming from a massionette.

Might Have 2 x 1000w Veg "Stage II" areas, 2 x 1000w Flower Areas, and a 400w Veg "Stage I" area... Will probably also end up getting a fluero and keeping clones under that as well...

Guess I'm just going to have to learn to get the hang of some parts of it, can't prelearn everything.

I suggest u try pull off something before u pump 5000watts. The growin plants is easy part n gettin air, light, water ect ect can be troublesome. Not a good thing to jump into if ya realy not sure how to keep mums n keep the cycle going.

If u are only flowering with 2000 watts , y would u need veg 2000 watts. For example Im running 3600 watts and clone and veg in a 1.4 meter tent under a 400mh with no down time harvest every 8 weeks.

What ya sayin will work but major waste of electricity. what i did like is u didnt mention fuckin cfl n fluros when ya move that u r on the right track with :scratchin:

Spot on bout the cant prelearn everything

Sorry scratch that u did :applause:, y would u need 3 veg area and a clone area????????????????

Umm I am still figuring it out...

Might just have one clone area, which may also be for moving clones outside.. It will probably just use fluero.

I may have one veg area under 400w

But I will definately flower under maximum light.

Still figuring it out but I'll keep in mind trying to not waste power :scratchin:

8 weeks cycle would be *SWEET*
