400watt hps to 600watt hps

Recommended Posts

Hello all i grow in a relatively small space but i have managed to get my temps to around 30 degrees with a 400watt hps, thinkin about trying to increase yield by upping to a 600 watter, was wondering if anyone else has tried it and what the temp difference was.

Thanks all.

It's hotter, but how big is the space you may already have enough light. Optimum light spread 400w horizontal reflector 0.9m x 0.6m. Same in 600w spread is 1.1m x 0.8m. Based on high light levels for established plants.. if your area is in the first size maybe try better medium or kick ass nutes instead forbetter yield. all the best. GH72

It will depend on your current grow area, your climate and regular outside temps.

I have used 400, 600, and 1000 watters, with yields being 13oz, 18 oz, and 24oz respectively- 1 plant.

This is in extreme humidity and temps, but with aircon in next room venting into growroom.

If you only change the light, you could expect to see 3 to 4 degree increase which may defeat the

purpose as higher temps may affect your plants.
