found lights on ebay

Recommended Posts

Hey DonJohn, I have used this company before but I usually use their webstore as sometimes the prices are lower (I checked and the price for that kit is the same).

I have the same ballast as that kit, and have used it for 4 or 5 grows with no problems at all. So yeah they are ok, and the price is good. I'm using digital ballasts now which have a few advantages including being able to interchange between 400W and 600W globes and MH and HPS with no switches or anything, but the 400W ballast is there for backup and was a good buy.

Hey DJ, mate I would buy one local, get a shade, globe and ballast for about $200 from a hydro shop, if you are going to go a standard ballast i recommend an Australian made JB ballast, don't know if i would let the weak link in my grow be a cheap chinese ballast, better safe than burnt down. Just my opinion. Have a good one GH72

These are actually a cheap Australian made ballast Gh.

Hi , you mentioned you're using digital ballasts now etc, I just bought a 600w Lumlux(from ebay) and its supposed to run all bulbs ok, I plugged it in with a 600w phillips bulb and it started fine then went out after a minute or so.....I waited about 5 mins and nothing else happened so I plugged my old ballast in and it started fine so I'm trying to find out what bulb i'm supposed to be using etc........any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers to your health, Bignose :-)
