Indoor/Outdoor

Recommended Posts

Hi all, long time reader first time poster, what a great forum you all have here indeed! Now for my question:

I missed the start of season last year and have tried to veg some plants indoors to take outside, I was looking for some opinions on whether this will work?

I live in Western Australia and I have 4 plants and 2 clones that have vegged in a small double closet,

Considering 4 of the plants have been on 18/6 for 2.5 months and are about 3ft tall, do you think it is possible for me to take the plants outside for flowering this late in season? winter only seems to be just kicking in where i am situated.

Our outdoor temps are around 22 deg max and 9 deg min, but it will surely get colder...

The reason for moving them outside is because i dont think they will flower to their potential under the lighting available indoors.

they are currently in their first week of flower under:

2x phillips 65wat 6500K CFL's above the plants

1x 20 wat phillips 6500K CFL above the clones and at the base of the plants

1x 35wat 5000K CFL at the base of the plants near the braches

1x 90wat red/blue/orange UFO above the pure afghan

1x 36w 4ft CFL Daylight tube (from an aquarium)

with closet temps around 28degrees.

the plants have vegged well but I there is insuficient light for some of the taller ones and the other plants are fighting for the light!

the strains I am growing are:

1x Pure Afghan

3x Some thai dominant haze looking bagseed, one of which started to flower under 18/6

2x hashberry clones (these are quite small but will still proivide a bit of variety!)

oh and some basil

I know the Pure afghan has a rather short flowering time and should finish in this weather but do you think the the sativas could cause a problem if they take too long and it gets too cold?

Anyhow thats all the questions I have for now.

Thanks yo!

heya johnny welcome to OzStoners :D

yea i reckon you got no choice but to get them outside and flowering , cause those lights wont really cut it compared to to the Sun, even the winter sun

try to put plants in a situation where they are going to get the maximum amount of hours of direct sunlight

and you should really watch them for the first coupla days cause they 3 ft tall an when they go outside the wind might be too strong for them to stand up ( maybe a support stake until plant is stronger?)

hmmm hope you dont get frost , cause they dont like that

but ya know any bud you get is gunna be better than nothing aye

just somethings to think about anyway :D

all da best with 'em
