The abused plant that has sprung to life

Hi all

 

This is a bit of a funny story about a poor abused plant that has been messed around, but somehow seems to be soldiering on and looks like it might be starting to flower.

 

The background is that I grew six plants and this particular one was male. Well I thought it was male. After all the others grew white hairs..etc.. this one seemed to have no hairs and kinda mini sac things growing where it branched off. So I separated it from the rest.

 

From there, I did not care if it lived or died so i put it next to my bed. It's growth stopped. then I forgot to feed it, used to give it a little drink from the left over glass of water on my bed side table. Sometimes I forgot to lift the blinds so it had a day here and there without any day light. As I said, I really didn't care if it died. It was scant and looked male, as i said.

 

However, I started feeding it nutes left over from feeding the good females. I just give it daylight through a window as well.

 

All of sudden it's started to fill out and looks fairly healthy. Also, there's loads of white hairs and it looks like it's about the flower. I was wondering whether it may have changed sex or something.

In any case, I don't really know what to do with it now, but it's been living without UV lights and much care for about 6 weeks!

Any ideas what i should do with this?

Paddy, i have a sneaking suspicion this could be a Hermaphrodite, get it as far away from your girls as you can(outside).

If you had balls on this to start with and it is now budding, thats a Hermi trait. It's not all bad news, good source of next grows seeds and the buds are not too bad to smoke. I think you are drying all your other plants now? If so just chuck it under the light and have a bit extra smoke when it's done. I can't see any male parts on ya pics but maybe I missed something. have a good one mate. GH72

well im no expert but i reckon id have to agree with grasshopper, that its a hermie, was my 1st thought anyway..im pretty sure i read some1 on here saying that severe stress like what that plant went through can turn them hermie.. dont quote me on that though...

Were there ever actual sacks on that or just the lumps you can see on the stem in the pic?

 

I'm thinking maybe you freaked out over nothing?

 

Either way it looks very healthy, and if it is a hermi you will probably still get a good smoke off it as it is definitely female dominant if it is a hermi. I would chuck it under the light and see how it goes.

well first of all, there were mini 'balls' growing near the branches. This was started at the same time as others and never showed white hairs within a few weeks of the others.

 

To be honest, I agree that it is probably a hermie. It made sense (from what I read about them before posting here). If that's the case, then I let it grow out and see if i get some seeds. No need to worry about it being close to the others because (a) the others have just starting drying and ( it has been separated from them for about 5 weeks anyway.

 

that's good because the seeds that sprouted the others produced some really strong choof, so looking forward to getting more of the same, if that's its future.

 

If the buds are smokeable and useable, i might dry them out and use this plant for hash.

i hate killing plants , but sometimes its just best , try seek the pure girls out for your growing hobby , don't waste time \ effort on anything that will not get you where you want to be .. which is , very high ..

I agree, but It's already going and the seed stock will be useful as a back up for next grow or if it's a good smoke like paddy says, just good seeds.

I am dissappointed by the fascist views displayed on here by you EV, your hatred for Hermi's has gone too far, I hope one day you will find it in your heart to love all plants equally regardless of their sexuallity.

But just one thing - if it does grow seeds, will they be good to use?
