Keeping them warm during winter flowering

Recommended Posts

Hey all, long time lurker first ever topic post (yay)

Just wondering as to what the general go is with keeping your plants warm during the night when flowering?

ie in a 12/12 cycle, how do you keep your grow warm if the temp in the grow area drops?

Mate of mine is planning a grow in his shed in a cupboard and doesn't think temp in winter will be a problem, hope he's right i guess...

Tin sheds aren't ideal, generally freezing in winter and sweltering in summer. Insulating the shed and keeping the pots up clear of the ground will help, but he'll probably need to provide heating during lights out to keep the temps stable. If the shed is well light proofed then running the lighting overnight and having the dark period during the day can help balance up the temps.

I'd pass on serving cocoa though, the chocolate might disturb their rest.

yeah lou lou has it sussed - sheds suck for temps, they are either hot as hell or cold as my last gf :scratchin:

I had monster issues with the nighttime temps in my sheds - even though they are insulated - and eventually had to run oil heaters in the rooms during the night which is a major added cost

If you drop below 20C then the plants will slow growth substantially and your mate will wonder what the hell is going on
