Venting that smell

hi I have a room 4"x4.5"x6.5". thats about 118 cubic feet. I have a 600w HPS (not air cooled) and 4x 130w compact fluros.

What size extraction fan do I need and what size inlet fan do i need as it is a sealed room.

Any help would be much appreciated.

In metric that's approx 1.2 x 1.35 x 2m, giving around 2.4m3

 

A decent 150mm inline fan (which can move about 120lps with the good ones) should do the trick, but you could always move up to a 150mm centrifugal which would be a bit more expensive but better moving air at pressure. These move approx 200lps.

 

The inlet doesn't need to be "Active" so long as there is enough provision for fresh air to come in down the bottom and opposite side of the room it will come into the growing area from there and then be pulled out via the exhaust fan. General rule is at least double the size of the active exahaust fan, so something about 250mm to 300mm in duct size to allow air in. Make sure the air has to move the furthest possible distance to get out of the room to ensure full exchange. A small oscillating desk fan or box fan will simulate wind for the plants and allow plenty of mixing of the air in the grow room.

 

By "sealed" do you mean that you can't get air out of the room? You'll need some provision for the air to go out through the roof or the window so you can exchange gases and keep things cool.

 

Filtration of the air would be fine with something like a 150x300 mm filter or 150x500mm for the centrifugal option. If you have the $ get the centrifugal fan and pick up the filter a couple of weeks into bloom and have this on the inside of the room with the fan pulling air out through it. This will eliminate odour and keep the exhausts nice and fresh.

there is a package that would suit from my local shop. It is a shame the people who work there are 17 year olds and know nothing about there stuff. but it has a great range of products.
