Growing one "super plant"

Recommended Posts

Hey Brick, is this OK if the roots are bound in the top section, as they usually ball up round the whole pot. Just curious, If it worked for you it works but what would be faster for the recovery of the root system? I have only re-potted, never tried the bottom out trick, would be a lot easier I guess. GH72

I just did it as an experiment. Read it somewhere in one of the growing books. Transplanting from a big pot, imo, to a larger pot is too hard . The roots just took off into the larger pot with no problems and minimal stress. The top pot needed a bit of balancing until the roots struck in the lower pot. Only problem I really had was judging when to water. After cutting the bottom off I just loosened up the soil around the roots at the bottom and left it to do its own thing. This was out doors. Washed my hands in a light bleach solution before touching the roots. Made sure no nasties were on my hands. Good luck. B)

I am doing the repotting today, in a few hours...

I just woke up, i'm in a hurry, I'm going to come back in a couple of hours and read through this all again more carefully. Also I'll get my hydro-engineer to look B)

Thanks again everyone. I'll be back soon.
