Well u can get away with 10 amps there mate :) if u cant even rate the equipment u wana run how the fuck u gona build this thing. As diff amps require different guages of wire so they dont melt.

wtf? the relay is rated well and truly above what is required. All wires are taken from the bloody light extension cords, the same 4 metre ones you would buy. If the wire melts on them then we all fked. The wire on the switch bit does not need to be so big as not as much current is going through it to trip the relay, so those wires can be a smaller guage, correct??

Glad u wana have ago, glad ur keen on growin. But gona put it bluntly for u. UR not gona see first harvy and we gona be minus a member

Seen more harvests than I care to remember buddy. You know you have seen too many when you dread them coming up. You know what I mean??

your sig says it all - "If it's Worth doing, it's worth getting it RIGHT the first time". Right is letting an experienced person do it ans buy 1

Did you know Thomas Edison fucked up 2000 times before he got the light bulb right, and I don't think he was a qualified electrician either. How does one become experienced if they always take stuff to people with experience?

Spend the fuckin money dont be so cheep...its ur life and ur plants at steak.

Err, I have spent 60 bucks on relays and 80 bucks on cables. But I have to bite, can you please link me to an Australian model. Thanks, that would be handy, although I am still going to make my own. My life would not be at stake, so stop being a drama queen. I don't plan on turning it on and then licking it clean ffs.

And if u did just buy it u would be half way though a flowering cycle by now and pay that thing off 100times

:peace:. OK buddy.

Can I ask why there is so much negativity towards this? Also why do the people that seem to be really against it have no comprehension of spelling and grammar. Gosh it is easy to be an armchair critic. I mean sure I can die, but why would you care? I can choke on a big mac and die, but I am going to keep eating them because I love them, I will just be careful to chew properly like my mummy taught me.

Thanks to all the people who have offered constructive criticism, and thanks to the others for the laugh.

Yeah, I know. I will get some grommets one day and do it properly, but this is just proof of concept, kinda thingy. I am learning a lot which is cool. I soldered those wires on but I will use the spade adapters because they will look cleaner and it will be less fiddly.

Once again, thanks.

OK, so I will post the pics and then wait for a bit to see people's comments before plugging it in and testing it. Would like to know that it looks as it should. It looks alright to me, but what would I know. Also will have to scrounge a couple of extra shades and spare globes.
