well she's a clone I grow to 14inchs under CFL then put out side on the 02/04/2010.

She looks fine Sheep, nice and healthy looking... is that a little beer saucer for the snails I see in there? If so, good thinking. Tyres are great for keeping plants warm in the cooler weather but they do create a haven for snails and slugs.

Yeah I had a snail/slug problem but 2 nights of patrols + beer trap and I haven't seen any since other then dead ones in the beer.

Yep, it's that time of the year, snails and slugs... no bloody spidermites at least and it's a damn fine reason to crack a beer. So how cold does Adelaide get in the next two months?

Normally we have mild winters here with lots of sunny skies in SA lows of 5-10c and 20-25c highs are normal.

Well it will be interesting to see how she goes... we get a fair amount of sun over winter, but a little cooler than you with frosty nights for 4 months J/Ju/A/S. All she needs is a rain hat now and thinks should be apples. Shroomy had a thread earlier in the season which had a pic of a plastic cold frame he built over his plants... if you can find it, that would be the thing to do to protect your girl from the elements. I usually do the same thing over my late tomatoes as the weather cools but this year I didn't get around to dong a late run of tomatoes so I can't go out and take a picture of them.

 

Or something like this... not necessarily this shape, but something you can drop over the plant come evening, that will prevent frost from settling, while still allow light through.
