height problem in first week flowering

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone and thanks for all your help.

It has been 6 days since I cut the lighting down to 11/13 to start flowering....etc...

Two things I've noticed is that

1) the height of the plant has increased dramatically.

2) there are a few more hairs (not dramatic increase), but doesn't seem like the buds are really forming yet.

So my questions are

(1) will the plant stop increasing in height or slow down shortly? I am worried I might run out of space, so if it continues to grow like this, should i top it?

(2) how long will it be before I start to see some bud growth?

Change the light to 12/12 and it will stretch a little less. They will stretch for the first few weeks (mostly in the first week or two) of flower then fill out. If they get too tall tie them down. Don't tip them, it will affect yield alot if you do it in late flower.

It's only been 6 days  give the buds time to grow. Another week and you should see them start forming strain dependent.

Yep all agreed, tie them down, spread them out, open up the middle a bit. But DO NOT CUT.

Big mistake that lots make(including me) in the beginning.

Use string rather than fishing line which can damage the stems.

Try using a trailer net and a couple of bricks to spread it out if you have the space.

The net allows you to continually direct its growth a bit more than having 20+ strings everywhere

Just some ideas ;)

Hope it helps
