Cold Nutes.

Recommended Posts

My seedlings are getting a bit big and the roots are starting to leave their homes, I cant put them in my grow room for 2 weeks till harvest is over.

I have a 1/2 finished system i'll use as a bubbler and veg in this for now.

I have no spare water heater and the water is prettty cold.

Just wanting to know if the cold nute temps will do any damage?.

Thanks.

if you can try and insulate your water box...ie keep it off concrete so the water doesnt absolutely freeze......

you could try swapping your water heater over on a daily basis if you are really worried about your lost growth...

there are lots of people that dont use water heaters....but then theres lotsa people that arent really worried about their yields........an extra water heater is only about 50$....

I only use a heater in the middle of winter. Most of the time my res is around 22 - 23, but it's outside my grow chamber and insulated in foam.

Get one of those styrofoam boxes from the local fruit shop - if there is such a thing as a local fruit shop nowdays. You just wont get the root growth that you might in the next 2 weeks with a heater, but you can catch up when you put em into veg in the big room.

Just keep an eye on the plants mate, they like 25deg nutes and anything under this will slow growth and can start causing tissue damage,

At the first sign of nute problems i would be getting a heater,

they are not expensive compared to what you have spent so far so why lower the yeild and quality just because you havent heated the plants properly??
