Grow box

Hey IHNI,

Why be building a cupboard inside a cupboard? why not just use the wardrobe. Its easier to manage in a larger area as plants can get fairly big and management in a confined space can be a huge hassle for a newbie.

Fans are also a must that is a fact for 2 reasons. 1) Heat-HPS put off lots of heat. If it builds up too much you can have a fire. 2)Air exchange-You MUST have air exchange. Plants take in CO2 and push out O2, this O2 needs to be removed from the area and replenished with fresh CO2. This exchange will also remove used moisture from the room. Too much moisture in the air can cause mould to develop in buds. It needs to be exchanged. Your fresh air intake should be down low where the air is coolest, your exhaust should be up high as the used hot air will rise. These vents should be on opposite sides of your growspace so that the air has to pass thru the plants canopy.

In addition to your air exchange (Intake and exhaust) you will need a fan inside your space, again for 2 reasons. 1)Air movement thru the canopy will make the plant flex and sway, this flexing will strengthen the stems just like a weight lifter trains to build muscle, the more the plant sways the stronger the stems. 2)Any pockets of stale air will build with moisture and thus cause mould. Stirring the air around will minimise this occurring.

Hope it helps
