T5 Lighting

Gday all, i was just wondering if anyone knew of a place in Oz where i can purchase T5 lighting similar to what you can see here http://www.bestgrowlights.com/plantlightin...ms/fluorescents

I can only find T5 lighting at aquarium places but obviously its not the same as this gear. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

But why are you so keen to go with T5's?

You can get a lot better light for a lot less using HID's, you can get 125W MH and HPS lights, they don't put out that much heat but they do put out fuck loads mote lumens than a T5 and better light penetration too.

G'day Maccar,

 

I am also going the T5 way for a few reasons,

 

1) I have limited space (growing in a wall cupboard),

 

and 2) its low heat, cost about $30-$40 every 3 months to run for a 4 globe set up. I also have issues with ventilation cause im living in an under house granny flat. Ill be posting my progress just as soon as i get setup.

 

So i assume u can get T5's from any professional hydro shop. Or check some online sights that operate from local shops within Australia. They are happy to freight anywhere for a cost.

well, these guys have an adaptor here ... and according to wiki T5's are just brighter fluros from T8's from what i gather... so, meh.

 

You are not going to flower with these lights i hope buddy, because they will not provide the lumens and penetration required in flowering imo... well, it will flower but the heads will be crud.
