What are your opinions on buying lights from eBay...?

Saw this 400w Cooltube:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...e#ht_1224wt_940

I sent the seller a message asking if they post with NO MENTION of hydroponics, growing, lights etc on the packaging...because I'm a little cautious and I dont want it to say HYDRO SUPPLIES all over it and arouse suspicion and what not. I dunno...

Nice, that sound great 420HELI...look like thats the one I will go with.

How much do the cooltubes cut down on heat?

Now, re FANS....

What kind of fan set up am I going to need?

Is a passive intake (hole in the wall) going to be ok if I have a fan pulling air out and through a carbon filter?

If not, are those 120mm computer type fans sufficient?

I came across some thingy that said I should be looking at moving around 170liters a minute with the size of room I will have....is that even close?

If so, how do I find out how much a fan moves when they dont supply this info in the description? Is there some kind of formula I can follow?

Thanks

I do not run a cool tube so i don't know myself. Perhaps someone that runs a cool tube can give you a better idea. They let you sit the lamp much closer to the canopy and vents the heat straight off the lamp so no hot spots develop.

I don't think a PC fan would do much good for an intake.

A passive intake should be fine... if you go back up to the lighting calculator figures, you will see the recommended air flow for the room is 35-45 CFM. So long as your exhaust is pulling out 35-45CFM greater than your intake it should be sweet. P.S. CFM=Cubic Feet per Minute

As for the conversions and formula's... meh, i dunno, i'm sure theres some info around here somewhere... happy hunting.

"SnowRyder´s final height is more or less pre-determined, with most plants finishing around 90-120cm."

"Auto-flowering cannabis begins blooming according to the age of the plant, rather than the light cycle, and this tendency gives SnowRyder growing advantages both INDOORS and out."

see: White Label seeds.

that would be well suitable i would have thought...

Pisspotgrower,

Nice set up mate... I'm def going to go with the 400watt cool tube. For a tiny bit of extra work at the beginning it seems it could save me hassle down the line with temps and burning etc.

Tippsy25,

Yea thats what I read and why I was considering it. Doesn't matter now....think I'll just go with Northern Lights for me first grow.

---------------------------------------------------------------

So....no-one know what size carbon filter I am going to need for this grow? I cant seem to find any information in regards to working out what size filer I will need...
