The Plans...

Recommended Posts

Livo,

Cheers mate, filter might be a goer I think. Im thinking I WILL go feminised...they dont seem to be that much more expensive. An what type of buzz Im after? I'd say I want the best of both worlds. A little bit of this an a little bit of that. But really not that fussed....successfully growing any will be a victory for me.

Malbuz,

Cheers mate...tis quite exciting already and I haven't even properly started.

Gills,

Skunk....Noted. Any type of skunk? As I have seen a few varieties with skunk in the name...

Herbman,

I do live at home, yes, but Im 21 and its not my mother who Im trying to keep hidden from. She doesn't mind me doing it as long as she is implicated in no way...its the landlord who I dont want to find out, plus like I said it has to do with Location...i cant go into it as its a bitch to explain but Im living somewhere thats potentially quite dicey. Just want to take every precaution I possibly can. May as well, right?

And Northern Lights ey... Noted. Cheers

420HELI,

Can you please name a few low odor strains for me? Of all the strains i have looked at, none mention low odor in the description...

Thanks everyone

You seem to have most of your bases covered. 400w seems kinda over kill for the space, but will work nicely if you can keep the temps down. I was using a 400W in a 1.2x1.2x2 and heat control was a bitch.

Any thoughts on what nutes you are going to be using?

400watt overkill ey...hmmm. What would you suggest? 250watt HPS? I really dont want heat to become a problem...want to keep it as easy and simple as possible considering its my first grow.

Re nutes... havent really thought about it as of yet. BUT, I do have a couple packs of ferts sitting around. Maybe they will do? They are:

Manutec Bloom Booster 6.2/14.6/16.8 NPK - should be good for flowering right?

and

Tomato and Veg Starter Fert 6.3/3.7/6 NPK. Sulfur 5%. Calcium 7.4%... any good for veg?

yeah, 250W would probably do the job, bit with any HID there is going to be alot of heat. But should be fine if you have a good ventilation system.

What type of grow will you be doing?

What type of grow you ask? Is all the relevant info not available in this thread?

Soil, bagseed to begin with then will try ordering in some seeds, 250watt hps, 2-3 plants etc etc...

Doc

haha, sorry, I missed that, fukin stoners. Not to sure about the nutrients for soil, I've never used them, but I'm sure one of the pro soil growers will chime in.

420HELI,

Can you please name a few low odor strains for me? Of all the strains i have looked at, none mention low odor in the description...

Someone already mentioned Northern Lights. This is the original low odour strain. Most strains with Northern Lights Parentage will have low odours, some big bud crosses etc. eg. the strain i have is a sensi seeds hash plant, NL#1 x Afghani, has nil odour.

On the lighting front, i run a 600W in a 1.2x1.2x2m tent no worries, its all about ventilation. IMO you should go with a 400W with a cooltube :yahoo:

Lighting calculator...

Minimum Lighting 25 watts Per Square Foot

Lighting

The minimum recommended lighting for your area is 202.5 watts

Ventilation

The minimum flow rating of your fan should be 35.3 Cubic Feet per Minute (CFM)

Power Requirements

This setup will require 1.1 amps to be available at all times for safest operation*

Optimum Lighting 40 watts Per Square Foot

Lighting

The optimum reccomended lighting for your area is 324 watts

Ventilation

For optimum ventilation the flow rating of your fan should be around 38.8 Cubic Feet per Minute

Power Requirements

This setup will require 1.8 amps to be available at all times for safest operation*

Maximum Lighting 60 watts Per Square Foot

Lighting

The maximum reccomended lighting for your area is 486 watts

Ventilation

Going this way you will require a fan with a flow rating of at least 45.9 Cubic Feet per Minute

Power Requirements

This setup will require 2.6 amps to be available at all times for safest operation*

Additional Comments

Getting to these points and or over it is highly reccomended the grower use Co2 in their room as your plants will only be able to photosythesise a certain amount of light before needing a Co2 boost to benifit

Wow cheers mate...thats quite helpful. A 400w HPS Cooltube seems to be the one to go with based on those results and your experience.

Someone mentioned NL strains earlier in the thread and I looked into it. Sounds quite good...seems to be just what I'm looking for.

- easy for novice grower

- indica dominant so not a huge plant

- low odor

- quality bud (taste and strength)

- suited to indoor's

Definitely on the top of my list so far...
