Plant stretching

G'day All,

I realise that this question probably comes down to strain specific, however, can anyone offer me a general rule of thumb for stretching capacities of sativa and indica strains? I have just switched these ones to 12/12 yesterday. 2 on the left are mango ( papaya ) - mainly indica strain, and the one on the right is an OG haze x skunk - mainly sativa, and was curious as to whether the sativa is going to " outstretch " the indica, and if so, how to combat this?

Hey mate, streching is generally caused by the differences between day temps and night temps, Temperature should really never exceed 26 degrees celsious when the lights are on and not drop past 23c when they are off, Ways off combatting this are to get a cooltube, make sure the area is well ventalated, run nights at light etc,

Most likely yes, the sati dominant plant will outstretch the other two, some judicious bending and tying in the first two weeks of flower might be required to keep her down, just dont keep doing it for to long or it will affect bud structure too much.

Sativa's can stretch more than three times their starting height during flower, although that is unusual in a seedbank Sati these days.

Thanks Herbman . Temperatures have a min/ max of 22/28 in my room so that should be OK from the info you provided, and , thanks THC - I was a bit sceptical as to whether or not I could lst after switching to 12/12 , however, if it's OK for the first week or two that will help in keeping a more uniform canopy.

G'day jabez. The haze x skunk would be at approx. 40cm now ( tipped and tied once ). Any indication as to what the final height could be from this? maybe another 30 - 40cm? or more. I'm assuming that you have grown this strain before.
