Anyone built a hemp house in Australia?

i heard we have over 600 hemp growers in oz now-not in south oz where i live though.

Has anyone built a hemp house here? i've seen them in france and will soon need to rebuild my shack of a house as the kids get bigger. i wanna use hemp.

I do recall a couple of years back that a Sydney Uni had setup a little project to construct such a house. But I can't say I heard what actually come of it.

Southern Cross University’s Dr Keith Bolton says work on Australia’s first house made from hemp should begin in the next few months, following this week’s harvest of a special hemp crop. The specially grown “mop crop” of hemp has been cultivated using effluent from a nearby piggery, as part of a partnership project between the university, Morrowby Futures and Ecofibre industries. Bolton – who says the Egyptians used hemp blocks to seal tombs – says the mop crop harvest will be ground up and mixed with lime to create a type of hemp concrete which can be used in formwork or bricks. “Once economies of scale start applying, there is no reason it won’t be cheaper and better than many other building materials,” Dr Bolton says. “It’s lightweight and has very good insulative properties.” The hemp house will be constructed with formwork, and will be built near Murwillimbah.

This topic is something that has intrigued me for quite some time, and if I was ever in a position to do it, I'd love to give it a shot.

Frazz, it's not illegal to grow hemp in this country. You apply for a licence from the Dept. Primary Industries

i know of two people who tried for hemp license in SA and got knocked backed, Rann and his dranconian goverment want to keep this state in the dark ages
