White Rhino

White Rhino is a cross. It's actually ever so slightly indica dominant.

Like all things, the actual effect of the smoke is down to how much it's grown as much (if not more) than the strain itself.

But, as an elite, it will definitely put you on your ass. People who report being knocked out and so on by it have probably just smoked a bit too much, being used to lesser quality stuff.

Thanks for the reply Paladin - could you please suggest a nice strain which gives an uplifting/ euphoric buz (if such a strain exists).

Thanks you for your reply again.

Others may be able to help better. I take it you're looking to grow?

You're right, of course that Sativas tend to get you high, and Indicas stoned. I'm a Sativa fan myself. I do enjoy a nice hazy, creative, energetic high, as some people in the chatroom can attest. Just not right before bed.

A lot would depend on your growing conditions - indoor, outdoor, etc. Sativas generally take longer to flower and get taller than indicas, so can be better suited to an outdoors grow - especially if in the tropics. If height in your growspace is limited, then looking at Sativas with a bushy, low habit is the go - but these are tricky and against the natural growth habit of a Sat. One I'm gearing up to try at the moment, though, is Arjan's Haze #3 from Greenhouse (and yes, I know Arjan is the devil, etc, but I want to see if the strain has the growth habit it's supposed to). It's super silver x neville's haze x a low-growing Laotian sativa father. If it lives up to the hype, it will be an interesting grow in the search for a pure indoor Sativa. But I can't vouch for it yet. Fantastic smoke, just very hard to get here.

One smart option would be to try for a sat-dom hybrid, with enough indica in there to make it easier to grow indoors.

You can, of course, supercrop, LST or otherwise top/train a sativa indoor to keep height down, doing whatever you can to minimise stretch (good lighting a must with Sats - don't mess about).

As for other strains, the Hazes are generally sat-dom unless someone has been messing about.

Skunk #1 is a good heritage, stable sat-dom strain.

Google 'indoor sativa' and check out grow reports.

Anyhoo, what are your proposed growing conditions and media?

EDIT: and to reiterate, some of the effect comes down to strain, and a lot also to growing conditions and harvesting. If you're wanting a trppy high, best to harvest the sativa a tad early rather than letting the trichomes amber. 50% clear, 50% cloudy is a rule of thumb I've heard to preserve a head-high. Someone here please pull me up if this is shite advice. We don't want the blind misleading the blind :peace:

Oh, and another way to try capturing the perfect haze experience (as you can tell, I'm on a mission) is to experiment with different inhalation styles. I find vaping a sat-dom gives me a much better head high than smoking it. I'll typically vape sat-dom for an up, fun time with mates, and then bring it all back down by smoking a hybrid or indica-dom at the end of the evening.

And, finally, in the too-much-info spirit, I reckon you can't beat Sativa for a great sex high. I personally find it a helluva lot more interactive than an indica in this respect.

WOW fantastic post - thanks for that.

I'm planning on doing a small closet grow (H 180cm, L 100cm, W 45cms) with 1000w globe. I'll be planting in a big tub with soil and vermiculite/perlite mixed in and hand watering 1 once day 600mls (maybe use some kind of fertiliser). In regards to air flow i plan to leave the door open all the time so i'll be putting a fan next to it and because its in a room with the shutters dwn/windows open there shouldnt be any problems. My aim is try and grow as organic as possible indoors.

I'm a little upset with the strain I have chosen but its my fault i should have done more reading.

Is there enough space for the Rhino in there?

Hey mate. She'll be a sweet smoke, so don't be bummed. It's a good strain, so cheer yourself up with the idea that you'll be smoking some of the best bud around.

OK, two things - 1000w (are we talking hps here?) is going to be overkill for that space, and more than likely will give you temp problems, and it will be dry as hell in there. Really, 250w is what you should be looking at for a tight space like that, or 400w with a cooltube and venting. Check out the growroom calculators in the cannaversity here to get an idea of what suits different spaces.

Look into airflow, too. To do it right, you probably want an extractor fan and passive intake at the least. If odor will be a problem where you are, then look into a filter or whatnot to manage that.

Should be fine with a couple of plants in that space. Just be sure to switch them to flower when they're between 1/3rd and 1/2 the height you want them to be, and read up on training the plant.

Anyway - lots of people here much smarter than I. Hopefully one will chime in to give you their 2c worth as well.

PS: great tip about the c99, chunk.
