Cannabis easier to buy than pizza, drug expert Dr Alex Wodak says

Recommended Posts

The good doctor has his head screwed on right.. but apparently he lives in bloody Amsterdam!

In all my years in Australia I have never been approached by someone offering me 'killer buds, dude'. Maybe I should wear my Bob Marley shirt and sandals more often. :D (no offense intended for Bob Marley fans and/or sandal wearers!)

God if only it were as easy to get as a pizza... make a call and pickup 15 minutes later from location 5 minutes away.

Even back when I did have a connect it always involved driving far or waiting around for an hour or more for contact to show up

I stopped reading because the article is so deluded in these statements alone

Will you idiots wake up and stop snivelling about the pizza connection, this guy has done more for sensible drug awareness than you lazy fucks ever will.

Your all welcome to prove me wrong anytime, but I'm not holding my breath lol

Fact: if you have a hard time scoring weed, you have no social life!

Off the top of my head, in highschool at any one time I knew up to 5 people that were always home, always had weed and were 15 minutes away on my skateboard.

As 15 year old kids who never had any money, what we used to do on a daily basis was go around the whole school and find 4 people who wanted a gram @ $20 each, then at lunch time skate to the house of who ever had the best weed going at the time, buy a q for $80, give the 4 people there gram (minus a small tax) then we had 3 grams (plus tax) left to ourselves. That's just one way teenagers with no money manage to insure they always have a mix in the bowl, it really isn't that hard with a large social network (school).

Anyway, my point is when I did have a large social network cannabis 'was' easier to score than a pizza. I could score weed basically 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, I usually had a choice of a few people, so I could always go with who had the best and I didn't even usually have to ring ahead.

Getting the cigarettes for the mix was 'always' harder than getting the mix itself. Also, once the parents woke up and started counting the beers and locking away the spirits, alcohol was harder to get than both herb and tobacco.

The moral to the story is, prohibition can sometimes cause grown adults  (who are far more likely to use cannabis responsibly, than teenagers!) who don't have a large social network to have a hard time scoring. But at the same time prohibition makes it easier for highschool kids to score some of the most potent weed going around easier than most adults can.

This was in the eastern suburbs of melbourne in the late 90's, but I don't think anyone can honestly say it's changed much, or that it's any different in any other Australian city. I'm willing to bet anyone that if you live in the suburbs (and most regional cities) any where in Australia, then there's someone a stones throw away that can either sell you herb, or score some for ya, you just have to get out there and meet them!

I order and pay for my pizza online and then they bring it to my door... I dream of the day I can order bud off a menu with as many options as Dominoes has for pizza toppings...

I miss Holland, just go to the coffeeshop in town grab a menu and head home (after a few tasters) for a right good sesh, without wondering if your nasty neighbour doesn't like the smell or if some plodder is going to knock on the door and take your stash for his Sunday BBQ. Pizza delivery here is shit, one night took me 3 1/2 hours to get my pizza, so yes it is easier to get than pizza =)

Before I moved away from melbourne, I had a guy that you could ring anytime after 7pm and he'd be around within half an hour with what you needed (anything under a half pound) and it was usually always good. I don't know about you, but that sounds a lot better to me (and just as easy) than a pizza from dominos that tastes like shit and has the texture of rubber!

I know what it's like for some people that are out of the loop, I'm not very social these days either. But just the other day I drove down to melbourne to one of my old friends house looking for some herb, he got my money walked down the street and within minutes came back with a bag for me.

Like the good doctor said, as easy as a pizza.
