Is it really going okay?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Today I need expertise, and I need your science. I started growing a cannabis plant from a seedling in July in the coastal NT. It grew really well until Christmas, I had to leave my plant outside in the garden and it got partly eaten by some junky ants... Fortunately I came back in time and saved it, but the plant doesn't look really good anymore. I need your opinion about its shape first, as it has a really big branch that destabilises the straightness of the whole holy plant. Do you think I should cut it off?

Big Branch

The plant is now in full sunlight and gets the rain water. It's 37cm tall, and is in a pot which base is 20cm wide and 19cm high. I had a look at the roots as I had to transplant the plant a few weeks ago, they were not taking the full volume of the previous pot. Other problem, some leaves are whitish as on the photo below, is it normal?

White stains

And two more photos of my plant and the buds, in case it might help you.

Buds

Whole plant

What do you think of the plant? Doesn't it look puny? Shouldn't it be taller than that after 6 months?

Thanks in advance for your help guys, have a good one.

Thanks for your reply guys, I do agree it looks really skinny, it should be way bigger than that.

What do you think I should do then, as I don't have any seed anymore? Should I cut off the whole plant from the base and let it grow again?

Thanks again for your help lol

Cheers

what sort of potting mix is that? if it's the el'cheapo stuff from your local hardware store I'd be pointing my finger at that

and is that osmocote slow release fert we can see in the top of the pot also mixed threw your potting mix

I'm pretty sure thats also rubbish for growing ganga and could be half your problem bigger pots wouldn't hurt either

Well I have to admit it's not the most expensive potting mix and the fertiliser I got that for free from a shop when I bought another plant. Do you think it can really be that? It grew well at the beginning with this potting mix, so I didn't want to change.

It is nevertheless true that the ground is getting really dry very quickly, in one day actually.

I transplanted the plant in this pot two weeks ago and the roots were not even taking the full volume of the smaller pot (which was half the size of the current one), so I don't really think that's an issue at the moment.

What would you do if you were me: cut off the branch that destabilises the plant? cut off the whole plant, if yes would it regrow? pray for the plant to heal and get better?

Thanks again for your help guys, that's very nice of you to spend some of your time on my problem, I do really need help. lol

6mnths.... lol.....:)....get rid of it, start again, 6mnths it should be a fucking monster, that looks like a rogue plant in a outdoor crop that no one has watered or taken real care of.

search the forum for outdoor grow guides, and then just take a few notes from them and you will be back on the right track within no time at all. keep going, you cant go anywhere but up.

you know how sometimes there are retards in the human world...well sometimes in the plant world there are retards as well, and sadly it seems that is what your plant is, you could continue to look after it and it will still be the same ol plant no matter what, the only real option is try to source some new seeds and start again. Your in NT you can basically grow all year round....best of luck
