2CONE-BOOM THC% ?

Hey all just a little about me and what we have been up to first. Both my best friend and myself are now 50yrs young, planted my first seed at 13yr and have tried growing in just about every medium and system there is indoors and out, my buddy was always bumming smoke so 10yrs ago, I set him up and we joined forces, he has the veg and seedling/cutting rooms I do the flowering and pollination/breeding.

Our dream, to enter in the cannabis cup . Our objective like most breeders was to get super high THC levels and high yields. We both love the couch lock position, total destruction, Chinese eyes, la la land. We started with Mr Nice G13 and over the years I have crossed it with most of the acclaimed high THC level strains, AK-47, Super Skunk, White Widow, Russian, Rhino, Ice, Haze and a few others every 3rd cross is with G13 again to maintain a strong G13 presence. The result being we have a plant that still looks a lot like the original G13 but bigger and bushier with even stickier buds and more of them with a nicer sweet taste. It’s taken a few years but we feel we have now achieved total couch lock, stuck, welded and fucked mates have named it 2CONE-BOOM and your mates are a pretty good indication THC levels are high when they pop in for a smoke around lunch time and I wake the next morning to find 1 or all of them asleep on the couch, that has always been the goal as well as yield. Last crop the flower room produced 14lb 16oz dried bud from 12 plants. Over the past 3 grows I have averaged 13lb a grow.

I’m a bit mad when it comes to the science of it all and want to now find out what sort of THC levels I have achieved. I no it’s a bit of a wank but we live in a scientific world where everything is given a number to determine it’s worth, from our credit rating, cars, fridges, THC% is how we have determined pots rating, the bigger the number the better it is. With all the crossing I’ve done have I truly raised the THC% or lowered it and just created a really nice strong smoke. G13 claims to contain 22% to 28% THC depending on the strain. 2CONE-BOOM does seem to be a lot stronger smoke than when we started all those years ago.

I have been researching how to measure THC levels and have hit a brick wall, what method is being used? I’ve come to the conclusion to get a true THC level you need a laboratory using Gas Chromatography or do you? Nobody has been able to give me a straight answer. Medical Marijuana Inc. sells a test kit which by all reports is rubbish. There are claims it can be done by weight but that only seems to work out your triclom %. By using Gas chromatography marijuana is separated into each molecular component. Then by using a Mass Spectrometry each component is individually weighed. The result is an ng/ml (nano-grams/milli-liters). What I also haven’t been able to find out, is what equation is being used to determine this percentage is it: (the weight of the THC) / (the weight of the total marijuana sample: dried or wet?) is it: (THC) / (weight of resin in sample) or is it, without using a GC-MS: (resin) / (total weight of sample ~ dry to get highest percentage)?

The breeders overseas who have bothered to e-mail me back claim to send samples to a laboratory or “THEIR LAB” as they say, but none of them can give me a name. I almost feel as though I’m trying to brake into some sort of secret society, I am quite happy to vacuum pack some samples and pay whatever inflated price they want, moneys no problem it’s my bloody curiosity. So if anyone no’s the true method used or no’s of a laboratory either here or overseas please let me no.

Nutrient

I follow the Dutch Master Gold feeding program now and I have to tell you why. Until a year ago I was one eyed CANNA would swear by the stuff, the only Holland based nutrient in Australia made for pot, bit pricey but hey you pay for what you get and when it comes to your baby’s food, only the best will do. I am well known at my local hydro store and was given the full Dutch Master Gold range plus Zone and Silica, it sat in the cupboard for awhile, made in Adelaide put me of it straight away. I started doing a bit of research on it and it turns out that even though Dutch Master will not officially say it but this Gold Range is made with pot in mind. In all 4 rooms nothing has changed for 6yrs. All rooms have Air con, humidifier, fans and Bottled Co2, environments are perfect, temp, humidity, air flow, Co2, water temp. So in 6yrs the only change made 1yr ago was to switch to Dutch Master Gold. The yield has gone from an average of 11lb on CANNA to 13lb on Dutch Master Gold 2lb gain just by changing nutrient, the growth stage is faster by a few days and ppm have been able to be dropped. I buy in 20lt lots so I’m also saving big$$ compared to Canna especially the additives.

Why does everyone assume that anything from Adelaide is crap??? At one stage we were known as the pot capital of Australia...now every prick wants to take the piss out of us. Sorry just venting again!!!

 

Like your style,dfwi. Those strains you're playing around with sound potent. I found a strain through UK420 called "SATORI" from Mandala seeds that is rated at 28% THC. Could be a worthy addition to your frankenstein experiments you're conducting there.

Like your style,dfwi. Those strains you're playing around with sound potent. I found a strain through UK420 called "SATORI" from Mandala seeds that is rated at 28% THC. Could be a worthy addition to your frankenstein experiments you're conducting there.

The only reason adelaide was known as the pot capital was because of its lax laws, but now they tightened things up...

We assume weed from adelaide is crap, because everything else from there is crap

Denver Colorado in the States is where you wanna look.

 

I recently watched a doco called CNBC Marijuana USA, was pretty interesting as it's current and showed the push for Medical MJ in the States.

 

There was a lab on there had just opened that tested weed for all the local growers in Denver I think. The laws and regulation of Medical MJ down there are pretty full on, growers are tracked from seed to harvest with loads of inspections and hoops they have to go through as the industry is now taxed and therefore has a huge govt presence.

 

Interesting tidbit from it was on of the leading drug/mj cops down there is now the state regulator or something for weed, can't beat em join em
