going from veg to flower

Recommended Posts

hi doctor_grow ,

Hi. Can you elaborate... Do you mean turn them back too veg?

I am assuming that RR nailed it and your referring to "re-vegitating the plant from flower.

dg .....is it better to flush the plants before you turn them back and if so for how long do i flush.

I don't see a flush to be 'speeding the process' up but it would not be harmful to flush after if your using 'flowering nutes'. You say you have done it before so i recon you know you need to 18/6 + light - the more the better especially if the plant(s) are in full flower mode.

Flush out as much as you like - a good flush out to me is 3 times flush to run out drainage.

:D

Nitty.

the strongest trigger to flower is 12 hrs complete darkness, flush is only needed when salts build up in the medium or prior to harvest, its irrelevant in terms of triggering the flower cycle imo

i done that 48hrs darkness once myself but i dont reckon it made any difference to anything :D .. but who knows?

cant really do anything but the 12 hr cycle and let nature take its course you are just there to manipulate the life cycle and provide the triggers and nutrients the plant will do the rest :D

thread merged (no need for 2 of them ;))

Now to your question, the reason why alot of us flush before 12/12 is to clear out any salt buildups and to also rid our medium of any left over grow nutes, grow nutes are high in nitrogen and these high levels are not needed in flower and can infact stretch your buds out if left as a salt build up in your system.

I have heard of the 48hr darkness for pre flower but have never subscribed to this theory as all i think it would do is stretch your plants right out which you wont need as the first 2 weeks your plants will naturally stretch. So all in all i would just simply give em abit of a flush wack em on 12/12 and sit back and enjoy the next 8-12 weeks :-D

Cheerz ;)
