Invega and Weed?

Hello, a friend of mine has schizophrenia but wants to try weed. She has a very light case of schizophrenia and is currently on the drug Invega to cope with her psychosis. She manages perfectly fine with her Invega which was prescribed to her.

What are the effects of weed and schizo and the effects of weed on her with a SRRI drug (effect serotonin levels)?

I would say its a bad idea for your friend to smoke weed if they have schizophrenia. Its likely to make it worse.

I would suggest they speak with their doctor

I can see pros and cons with its use as a medicine with this condition

though to use it in combination with paliperidone i wouldnt even know were to start

I would suggest you research this thougholy before you try anything

and once again get your friend to speak to there doctor

Okay, I asked her to speak to a doctor before trying any weed. Thanks guys

 

She also asked me this just then "same applies for any legal herbs like passionflower and mugwort correct? If you dont know ill go to a doc then but im scared "

dont be scared the doctor is there to help

and infinitely more qualified than any of us to help you with these questions

and yes the same to any herbal medicines
