yay! Pistils! and lots of em!

Recommended Posts

I'm excited to report that my first outdoor set of plants are thriving and look very well apart from some minor leaf burn on one of my potted plants from our recent heatwave in melbourne.

Every day i'm checking the tops of each stem and seeing several little white pistils increasing as each day passes, I'm excited as this is the fruits of my labour and never thought that I would be vey successful with this.

My ground plants are about 8 feet tall which i'm thrilled about! with somewhere between 10-20 pistils on each stem, i'll take some pics tomorrow.

since this is an outdoor grow how long should flowring take? at least 10 weeks?

Close up of the Left bush, nice long thick stems although not very dense, i suppose it's the surrounding bushes blocking out light, still..I have about 2 months before I see some massive results, each stem looks like this with about 5 stems

baby pistils, only a couple on each tip but each day there's another one or more, hard to see, I tried to use Macro on my camera but it didn't like the positioning and it wouldn't focus on the right area of the images, some are a little blurry, I tried :bongon:

This one I have grown horizontaly with some nice results

Now, is it a good time to top these plants to get their height approximately the same for each stem? I understand making them "think" that each stem is the highest stem will result in somewhat better yield? I would probably just leave them as they are, they seem to be doing quite well at the moment

Just wanted to make a small update on my plants, 2 weeks into flowering and i've noticed that the lower stems are budding much more than the upper half of the bush, still they're doing well...should i top the plants? will that encourage pistil development?

this is another of my plants, it's a small one about 3-4 feet tall...not very big but budding is pretty thick and dense!

This is my flowering Male plant, i'll harvest some pollen for possibly next year and maybe look for a different location in the yard to grow just to compare results

I dont know if i'll be harvesting the big plants this month...could be march or even later, it just seems really slow.

been applying canna flores once a week...hopefully they burst with energy and fill those well prepared weight-bearing stems with ounces of bud!
