1000w yield question

Recommended Posts

Hey people.

My brother is going to set up a grow setup in my room. He used to have a very sophisticated setup, with 3000w, the lights would rotate etc. He's using some of the equipment to set up a simple grow.

We are not sure whether to use hydroponics, or just grow organically under the light. I must admit, I like the idea of organic growing, however I am sure hydro probably gets a bigger yield.

Lets assume I go the hydro route.

If you guys would get a $100,000 reward for who guessed the closest answer, and lets say I get high yielding seeds, roughly what sort of yield would you get from a few plants with 1000w running 24/7 until flowering?

I know nobody can give a definite answer, but I am really trying to figure out *roughly* how much pot i am going to have incoming in a few months.

I am going to sell some of it, but only to good friends. I am not selling to make profit, but I want more money to invest in a better setup. The idea is I eventually want to grow enough to last me 2-3 years. Considering I can go through 1/2 an ounce per day when I ingest the stuff in my "marijuana milk"- I need a lot.

The other question to ask, is how much of a difference does it make using a simple hydro setup under 1000w globe, as opposed to using a good organic setup under the same light?

Thanks guys

In regards to asking my brother, I just found out from him he was willing to do it.. It was late at night and I came on here, thought I'd ask a question.

If I get anywhere in the vicinity of 20 ounces I will be happy.

As for the matchbox comments its true... I know a lot about weed, and smoking it, but nothing about growing it- especially hydro. I simply don't have good hands on practical type skills, I am hopeless at gardening, home repairs, fixing stuff with my hands, all that stuff!! Which means I have a LOT to learn, but because I love MJ so much (like all of you), I am willing to take on this challenging task!

Thanks for your replies, even if some of them were slightly condescending :)

just my 5 cents.

when my dad was doing hydro 3 plants each under a 600W HPS so total was 3x600W HPS globes.and he would get 16 - 20oz dry weight a plant.

If youir aiming for a huge yeild outdoor is your best bet, my mates that grow outdoor advrage 2 - 4 pound a plant.

I would like to know how 1 of my mates does it he always gets about 10 pound dry weight from each of his outdoor plants and they only bout 2m when he chops them and some how he gets way more than all of us that i know grow.
