too much heat!

Hi I hope everyone had a good Christmas and a happy new year.

 

I have a question to ask any experienced grower. What I have is three plants growing and they are in the sixth week of flowering. I don't know the type of plants they are but I do know that they are Sativas, anyhow they are in a growbox and I can't keep the temp down. It is sometimes at the one hundred degree mark! They are growing on a 12 - 12 cycle and looking worse for wear due to excessive heat. I also have several small plants growing outside and they are in a shade house and growing really good and healthy. The question that I want to pose is can I take the flowering plants and put them outside without causing the plants to revert back to the growing stage?

 

I live in Western Australia and my grow box is in an insulated garden shed. I have no way of controlling the temp in the grow box apart from two ducting fans. I would like to grow the plants and have them as healthy as possible but the only way to do this is to grow outdoors. I will use the grow box for my winter crops and it should yield me enough bud for myself for that time of the year.

 

If someone could advise me on the best way to deal with the situation at hand I would be really appreciative.

are the samll plants flowering? i guess if they are, then the other ones should be fine...

you mean 100 farenheit right? which is about 38 celcius, which is pushing it, but still manageable i think.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Yes it was 39 degrees Celsius today and tomorrow it will be 42. I don't have a thermometer in the grow box but it is really hot in there. I start to sweat when I open the tent. Also i have the grow light on throughout the night to try and keep the temp down. They are on a 12 - 12 regimen, from six pm to six am and in the dark for the daylight hours.

 

No the small plants outside are not flowering yet; still a few months to go for them. They are only about 30 centimeters tall and have a way to go before the season changes so I'm looking at some big yields in the Autumn which should be around April- May. I had them growing in the sun for several weeks and they didn't grow. Once again I think it was too hot and not right for the plants. But since they have been in the shade house with filtered sun they are nice and green and healthy and are growing fine.

 

It's the two that are flowering that are of a concern to me. They are not too healthy and don't look happy. If I take them out of the grow box they will have a good temp to grow in but they will get 14 or 15 hours of light and I was wondering if this will be a negative to them and cause them to go back into the growth stage.

 

I guess when I think about it they will be better growing out side and will eventually flower anyhow; but if they stay in the tent they will be unhealthy and may die off before they finish flowering. What do you think?

hey joeybc welcome here for the best it sounds like moving the plants outside is the only realistic solution for you regardless of the photoperiod, the days are becoming shorter so thats going the right way and Cannabis is a weed and very resilient so im thinking it will cope alright, besides the shadehouse is not intense light either

 

only thing i got against shadehouse's is the shade, cause it can make the plant stretch out for better light, then when it comes to flower ya sometimes have to support the heavy flowers, nevertheless its still do-able
