Mr Paclobutrazol

Dear All,

 

Hey Canna Nation the is my first post so I'll introduce myself I'm not a grower I'm a chemist/agronomist I'm head of the research department for a leading brand of paclobutrazol. Paclo is registered for use with mango, apple, pear, rambutan and some others in Australia. It is very mildly toxic but has a strong degradation curve i.e. it breaks down quite quickly so 21-30 days is required to get the residues down to a negligible level.

 

It’s no secret that the vast majority of the commercial mango and avocado etc. (high value fruits) use paclobutrazol to reduce the canopy and increase the fruit number quality and size.

 

Superbud has Alar which is toxic and is thought to be mildly carcinogenic it does not break down to non-toxic substances quickly or easily. It SHOULD not be used particularly in cases were fruit/flowers/leaves would be smoked. I'm primarily interested in how paclobutrazol is being applied and to assist anyone in creating a dosage plan that will not have a residue. My motivation for this is to reduce the number of people using paclobutrazol in an "unhealthy" way.

 

I'm not sure if I read it correctly but I think somewhere in here they suggest making your own paclobutrazol and simply unless you have a number of very expensive pieces of scientific equipment and a degree in chemistry your only going to make a mess or something ineffective or deeply toxic.

Ah this worries me as some commercial growers might be using this stuff to boost their grows for profit regardless of the fact it could be toxic.

 

Is there any way that a person can tell if the weed has been tampered with the chemical in high doses?

 

there is even a risk the media would jump on board with this 'chemical' and promote a new anti-marijuana campaign.

 

its the perfect excuse for them.

There's no doubt some commercial growers would use this or a similar product. Personally I would be more worried about pesticides being used close to harvest.

 

Probably no way to tell unless you have had it tested. I did once get offered a bag of buds that smelled just like Lanate (a dangerous pesticide). It might have been how the variety smelled naturally but there was no way of telling. Didn't buy it.

 

These are perfect arguments for legalisation. While huge profits remain to be made by crime there will be no controls on any of these practices. Grow your own.

Yeah my 'guy' has the option of getting either some stuff that looks like mexican shwag which is supposedly laced with acid or some other drug or white russian hydro. He never gets the shwag due to the fact he himself doesnt like the idea of pushing laced BS thats not good enough to get a mouse off its nut.

I can get pics of WR without PGRS and With, basicly without buds are 10times the size, stinky sticky a little softer and have higher % trics and wont knock your mate out if you hit him in the head with a cob..

 

GIFTed bud i recieved of My rhino cut dosed with UTURN not the active ingredients paclobutrazol and cycocel/ or same diff name i once used.. is a shocking smoke but fpr his first grow in a unvented cupboard 1x 600wt 23 dry oz, basicly gives a crappy grower a decent weight but weaker.

 

used like i did 1 drop per 30 to 50 litre you well under recomended dose, or green colour pac 1x drop (from pipet) to 10 litres, the newer pac sepperates needsa good shake white and brown is stronger 1 drop per 30lt id halve that if you just want to slow stretch of the big sats

 

i use on males to keep them under control, thinking about using on bonzi mums if i can sort away to reverse the pac once planted.

 

MR PAclobutrazol.

 

No need to mix your own cycocel full price at grow shop $350lt or $1ml under 100ml at a time. this is the expensive part B.

Paclobutrazol is stupidly cheep $10 for 10ml costs the shop maby $100 a litre(green) and we are so lucky not all commercial growers have clicked onto it..

 

Growth technoligies did a trial in 2000 only follow there dose rates or 1/2 even 1/4 dose if it has to be used. The son of

green grocer i have no issues with the use of these hormones but on weed where growers dont follow directions well more is better and the fact that its unknown if its residue makes its wa into the final smoke as some folia spray and res feed.

 

 

drink wine? your getting PGRs into your body

eat fruit? same

work on a farm? commonly used specially pac helps pickers and strengthens trunks

 

you just have to weigh the pro and cons, as said this is a pot related site, Its not needed so lets leave it here we know what it does and how it works syntheticly altering natural hormones..

 

would we all be jumping up and down if it was organic? or tested 100% safe and didnt effect hash harvest or the obvious lack of globs on tric stalks?

 

just my thoughts on this touchy subject, its a shame a lot of companys put just alittle pac and water in a bottle sell for 100s, cost them a few $s to make and get to the shops without saying what the active ingredient is.. If i had no respect for my fellow growers and was only in it for the cash id be cashing in too... US growers just dont get it BIGGER is BETTER its all about getting 5k or more per pound from the med co ops. greedy mofos

I think PGRs are wrong. Good to see that many others seem to agree. Never used them never have so can't comment on any benefits or not.
