perth grow room

Recommended Posts

hey whats up, ;)

Iv'e got a perth grow room (Greenhouse) and it gets into the 40's which I know Is extremley bad for the plant. ;)

Its tinted plastic and gets alot of afternoon sun which is apparently the worst kind?

I would like to know if theres anything i can do to minimise the heat generated in the room,

cutting holes in the roof is not really a option and i can have a fan installed, but i dont know that the fan will be sufficent as the room is 2M wide,5M long and about 180cm in height, and this is a standard 40$ house fan.

I was wondering if there is any other way to dramatically decrease the temp and the cheaper the better (and the house is a rental so nothing extreme). :D

I did have my plants in there for a couple of hours one morning and when i got in there they were completely limp (just wondering) is this heat exhaustion because there always well watered. :D

oh and i dont use all the room in the greenhouse this is my first gro so only 4 plants, mainly indica/sativa X.

:peace:

Wilting of plants CAN be the result of heat/dehyrdation. As suggested before, use some sort of shade to decrease the heat being received by the outside of your greenhouse. Shadecloth set up tightly 2-3 inches from the stucture over the afternoon sun side will help a lot. Even cover the wall that receives that morning sun, but not the morning sun part of the roof.

See if that helps, ventilation is another story. Maybe have a whirly-bird or two installed in the roof.

Otherwise, leaving 2 spots in the greenhouse open will provide enough air, and keep the heat down.
