hey luke, I used Searles premium potting mix which includes osmocote. When they weren't doing so well I mixed a handful extra of osmocote in one pot and started giving half strength hydro nutes to two other plants. I did this for a couple of waterings and the ones getting the hydro nutes were doing better and going back to a darker green so I've given them all hydro nutes in the last watering.

 

What fert would you recommend? but It goes to show how different plants grow. I got 5 different strains growing lush green and totally healthy in this same potting mix getting nothing but PH adjusted water.

Okay, now I understand. The amounts of nutrients in your avg bag of potting mix, even with added osmocote, isn't that much. Be prepared for those plants with osmocote added that they will need slightly less nutes added than the ones fed exclusively on hydro nutes. (and the soil itself, but it's nowhere near enough for a gross feeder like cannabis.)

 

Uhm, yeah, all strains are different in their needs, the osmocote in the potting mix won't sustain them forever though, so eventually you'll be ferting them all, just at different rates according to their needs. Keep paying attention to their quirks and idiosyncracies, and you should do fine.
