Greenhouse Growing

Recommended Posts

I have a greenhouse at my disposal and am wondering if any of you guys have any experience with them.

I have a few plants in there at the moment and the leaves grow really big and are a really dark healthy green and the plants seem to grow faster than outside, but stretch a little between lats. And also when the plants get big they have trouble standing up (im guessing this is because no wind) so I have to put them outside for a few days to strengthen them.

Do any of you guys have any tips to get the most out of my greenhouse?

Thanx.

are we talkin shade cloth style greenhouse????????????

i use hot house style plastic

in most cases

the stretch is from overheating make sure you open the vents totally in full summer sun

add co2

week stems is sign of a K deficiency

greenhouse design is crucial

do you have a store bought variety or like mine strictly a DIY job????

cause

when you have the vents fully open it should create an updraft of cool air just like having a oscillating floor fan

thus negating the need for the out side breeze

Its an A frame DIY greenhouse, clear plastic on front and sides, 2closable windows in top corners, tin backing with metallic covering on the back wall, and door on the back wall, with a hose in there :(

Will try to get pics soon just have to buy a camera once I get back to work ;)

I have a themometer in there and at the moment its getting to between 40 - 45 degrees on a sunny day, when thats between 25 - 33 outside.

Ive mainly got my budding plants in there and because I figure it would get less sun in there and keep them budding in these long days ;) and a few other plants that need a bit of extra care.

Shouldnt have a problem with K defficiency.. I have a super potassium fertilizer that I use once a fortnight.

Thanx.

seen then is the overheating

thats causing the stretching

add co2

that will help

but really you need to is

improve the venting

there should be cool fresh air inlets at the bottom

like below your ankles

make them bigger

same with the hot air exhaust outlets at the top

which must be the very top

with no hot air pocket trap above the hot air exaust

a chimney effect is what you want inside

suck the cool air from the bottom as the hot escapes out the top

causing a updraft inside and keeping the plants cool

the hotter it gets the faster the updraft

to a point of course

then after that point its time to add fans

just like irey lou lou said

right on sista :(

hafe love i likkle hothouse flowers too

burns

there is heapsa hi tek gear pon the market today

nuff to fully automate greenhouse environment control

do a search there lotsa good info out there

like how to white wash the glassey bits

Ouch, get some extraction happening and your plants will do better.

Mine is also a diy job, built from whatever came to hand plus $100 worth of high strength agricultural film. Solid back wall on south, plastic and screening east and west and all plastic on the north side. North side rolls back up over the roof for summer leaving it open onto a small fenced and screened 'shade house' full of decoy plants. The green cover only cuts the light by 5% but works like a treat at keeping out prying eyes.

With the north side open and the fans on it is the same temp inside as out, just a little more humid. Which around here is usually a good thing. No view of ganja from the outside but plenty of room and light inside for a decent crop. It also extends my ability to flower outdoors through the winter. For a couple of months I need to bring flowering plants inside over night for warmth, so I tend to grow smaller plants thru winter.

37 is still way too hot

try and maintain temps below 30c

if that is not possible

then co2 injection is a must

please take some pix

of the air inlets and exhaust

high humidity is not good especially for indica

sativa can handle a bit more

what is the humidity inside?????????
