Im wanna put my mums and clones in the same room as flowering plants, ive knocked up a frame and got black plastic up as a divider. The flower room is sealed with co2 setup on the way..

im not sure which way to go for ventilation in the muth/clone side.. im not keen on turning the walls into swiss cheese anymore then i have to.

I was thinking passive intake vents in the floor and an exhaust fan mounted thru the door.. Or have the mother clone side share same air as flower side using passive vents? (would there be enough air exchange using pass vents?) In this case im sure ive read of vents that let air thru but not light..

I can even leave the door ajar in muth/clone area.. Im not too worried about heat in muth/clone area bcos i want higher temps for clones anyways.. Any input is much appreciated. Edit: Forgot about a scrubber too

The narrow column area 'highlighted' is mum/clone and the bigger area is flower.. u have to go thru clone area to get to flower.

My camera is being borrowed atm, but i can get pics if need be..

i have a similar setup now though passive was no good for me because my room is in the middle of my house so ive got a 250 c/f fan intake ducted thru the roof to a vent outside then another 250c/f with a carbon filter ducted into the roofspace, inside that room are my open clone box and open double batten 4' fluro for mothers also in the room are two separate lightproof boxes with 2x 125 intakes and 2 x 125 exhaust fans for flowering

i hope this helps but i think its oposite to what your running with :peace:

Hi falconcobra,

Your making life/growing hard for you. If that is a drawing attempt it has a detracting effect rather enhancing our conceptualization of what you are doing.

Can I suggest obtaining a copy of 'draw' graphics program. In order to upload you need to save the drawing as a 'jpeg' format then upload. Most windows operating systems have this program, or download free copies after doing a search on 'cnet.com (downloads) for "graphics programs".

Now onto your problem. A separate flower chamber is a better way to conceptualize your delima in finding a solution. It is far easier due to the 2 light timings needed for these too processes. Your right that it is not so important for your mum, room/space to be light proof, however the more control you have the better.

falconcobra, .....Im not sure which way to go for ventilation in the muth/clone side..
Me either. Your there ;) The only thing if I were you is to ensure the best 'air exchange' (hence cooling). You want to keep mums in optimal prime condition.....I suggest fluro's in a blue spectrum range for mums (Keepers)

OK, the door open problem is if light access your flower chamber.......but you know this. It is not a problem if it enters your mother (keeper) and veging area.

As I said in the beginning your the person there 'in-situ' ....... so it is hard for others to say which way to look. Basically, it can be done but creates a conflict with lighting control - them being in a single room (space). I doubt if i have added or solved anything for you.

all the best with your dilima.

Thanks for the input budgiekk much appreciated mate

Me and you are bit lost in translation i thinks Nitty ;) .., The flower room is done, ac, dehumidi and sealed.. More to the point i was wondering if i could/should share air with the flower room with lightproof passive vents or use fans to exchange between the rooms or should it have its own supply.

I can find this out myself but i thought id put it out there in case someone could save me time and hassle..

Cheers for replys so far.. :(

Edit: Taking on board Budgie having seperate ventilation supplies and Nittys comment about keeping mums prime ill prob just vent the muth/clone space seperatly.

If your only using flouros to maintain mothers and clones and you can open the door open I'd go with that falconcobra. A 250 or 400 MH will get a bit too warm in summer but should be ok in winter as long as your not too far north.

If you need to keep the door closed I would use acoustic air-con ducting, and a cheap inline 150mm fan between flower and veg area. The acoustic ducting is flexible and easy to get a few 90' turns to stop any light transfer, usually has a black inner as well which helps heaps. Comes in 150mm and 250mm or bigger. A 6mtr length will retail at around $60-$70 from most air-con show-rooms. Saves a lot of fucking around with light-proofing.

Edit; 1x150mm exhaust = use 2x150mm passive inlets :(
