Looking for opinions on using a 400w hps for vegging mothers

ofc MH will provide a much more compact plant

vs the stretchy hps plant

but i find wen desimating a mum for clones its no biggy

Phillips SonT Agro 400W HPS, a little less compact growth than MH, but if you already have an hps ballast the phillips would solve the stretchy problem associate with usual hps during veg.

 

Edit reread your post, hps is an expensive way to light mothers, you'll get away with lower power consumption with mh or even lower cfl grow lights.

some folk can place too much emphasis on minor details which often come back to personal circumstance / preference in the final analaysis IMO

 

unless of course you are conducting a state of the art grow with latest cutting edge technology , but then you wouldnt be asking us this Q i guess

Thanks Prof. Frazz, that was a funny one.. ur advice is always appreciated.

 

Dont assume too much tho, Ive just purchased a harvest master co2 easi and co2 reg, i have a 42 site nft/aero set-up which i banged up myself but is m.i.a atm bcos of res temps BUT ill be building a multi res chiller runs daisy chains between multiple rez's, saving buying a bunch of chillers. will be upgrading my aero/nft soon to something a bit more custom to my room dimensions so i can utilise the full space more efficiently.

 

Ive had my mums under an 8 T5 5000k set up which i wired up myself VERY cheaply (which i can tell ppl how to do but the thing is, the t5 ballasts are kinda 'borrowed' in a way that is sort of stealing but it isnt really stealing in the true sense of the word ) moved them onto the HPS bcos the t5's will be for my babes so it kinda important that my hps do a good job on my mums bcos its important they produce for me,, although its a cheapy powerplant ballast which i think is retro globe compatible but im not sure, maybe someone knows?
