Aquaponics

Recommended Posts

Hey, i was a bit bored so i thought id post my aquaponics build..

Im building an aquaponics set-up which is growing veggies and table fish symbiotically.

Ebb and flow using two kiddy pool clams for grow beds (Dora Explorer brand works best :) ) filled with river pebbles. 2 types of bacteria colonise the pebbles and break down the high ammonia fish crap into nitrites then inrto nitates which the plants then use to flourish.. The fish live in the bath tub and the water will be pumped up to the beds as per normal flood and drain..
