magnesium sulfate deficiency - purpleing stems/leaf stem

Recommended Posts

ok

a few plants outdoors are very quickly showing signs of a mg deficiency..

just wondering what ratio of epsom salts to how many litres of water ?

usually i just do 1 teaspoon per 9L watering can.

What ratio should i use for foiler feeding aswell ?

one of the plants is VERY quickly getting worse. Never seen a plant show signs of a magnesium sulfate deficiency so quickly.

i have given them a small foiler feed with epsom salts.

thanks

Be sure to check the ph of your medium as this will often be the cause of the mag lockout in the first instance.

I normally foliar feed at the same rate of a drench, about 1tsp per 5 litres.

ill get some pics up within a week or so.

theres 11 plants in the patch, all around 3ft tall . 9 are skunk #1 fem, 3 are gurellia gusto.

only 2 of the gurellia gusto are showing signs of magnesium def.. no yellowing leafs or anyhing just early stages.

i gave them a slight dose of nutes for the first time about 2 weeeks ago, they were about 2ft tall. gave them 1ml per litre of Earth Juice... burnt the SHITTTA out of my biggest gurellia gusto, and slightly burnt the others. I had to flood the area for 12 hours. 6 hours each day. They still burnt quite badly.

If i didnt give them a big flooding they would have been way worse off. I know we are in water restrictions but come on.. we only get 1 chance at the outdoor season each year in vic.

Im going to give them another slight water of epsom salts and see how we go.

peace
