Emergency! Please Help! #2

Recommended Posts

i am very sure you have multiple deficiencys, maybe because your PH is off or you have salt build up in the soil.

flush the pots out with lots of PH water untill run off reading is the same PH as the water being put in,then wait some time for the pots to dry out a little bit, then feed them a high quality fertilizer.

do you take run off readings,if not you really should do mate because it gives you a clear understanding of what is going on.

i think EC & PH meters are a must have tool for noobies.

all the best BB

Multiple threads on the same topic are unnecessary so i have merged your threads here as one

Thank you for your understanding and all the best

No Problem! I was recently a member of a forum in EU that removed, edited, deleted or moved topics if they varied only slightly from the current thread, so I got into the habit of starting new topics (mostly because it takes me so long to write my pieces-- I am also legally blind-- and I just got tired of my stuff disappearing without explanation! ). I appreciate you taking the time to inform me though, and I will be more cautious in the future! :yinyang:

I agree, this HAS to be multiple deficiences. I am attempting to correct them one at a time. As stated earlier, I have applied trace elements, Epsom Salts and neem oil to the soil to get rid of fungas gnats. Fortunately, the gnats never really got out of hand, and I appear to have completely elminated them. Just did the flush three days ago and will be returning to my regular fertilizer schedule today. Do you have a particular fertilizer that you prefer over the others?

Yes, I do take PH readings on a regular basis and maintain my PH levels between 6.5 and 7.0 in all my pots...

PS. I am only new at growing in AU, I have successfully grown in the USA and all over the EU, including 2 years in Amsterdam (indoors, outdoors & greenhouses in both countries, but mostly outdoors medical-grade stuff). I do not have the familiar products here and on my extremely tight budget cannot afford to order and have them shipped to AU. There are too many risks associated with this type of behaviour and seeing as how the stress from the numerous problems I'm currently experiencing has put me back in bed for three weeks and counting, it is an unacceptable risk.

hi confuzzed, trying to correct multi deficiences one at a time is hard work & a waste of your time i think

i think its 10x easier just to flush them out with lots of water to give yourself a nice clean start & then just feed them a high quality feed.i would say your PH is fine at 6.5-7.0 maybe try a bit lower 6.2-6.7

do you take EC reading also ?

how much food was you feeding them, full amount ?

my best guess now would be that your plants are hungry for more food, but dont just take my word on it mate because i am not 100% sure, maybe someone ealse will offer you help also

btw, i use this for my soil grows http://www.canna-uk.com/terra_vega

take it easy

Hi ConFuzzed.I`m sorry to hear that your health isn`t the best.May I ask in what medium are you growing the plants. It looks like some kind of ground up bark(possibly PH may be off the scale).Yates has several types of soil, whcih do you use?How many hours a day are they under light(what are you using Floro type, lumens, color temperature)? What exactly (which Yates ferts)are you feeding them, and how much and when, what`s the PH of the nutrient solution?Do you use city tap water, well water,do you have a water softening system, and what is the PH of the water? What is the strain?Different strains require different regimens.Any additional info may help diagnose the problem.

Judging by the purple stems,it looks like a potassium deficiency. The yellowing on the lower leaves usually indicate a nitrogen deficiency,as the nitrogen usually is used for new growth it tends to migrate to new growth as it leaves the older growth.I have a feeling that your lighting may not be sufficient. Also each strains needs can vary greatly.I have some strains that can`t handle nutes, and only need intermittent fertilisation,or they start to look like what you have.In other words, they almost need nothing in the way of nutrients from start to finish.

You understand,I`m only guessing as to what the problem may be.Please post some more details.

Peace
