Is this spidermite?

Hey people ive noticed a few of my leaves look like this and i was thinking it may be spidermite but i don't know.

Thems mites for sure, healthy looking too

Spray it with Mite-rid ..... 1 spray is normally enough but do a followup spray 5-7 days later to be sure.

so they are mites thought so, and whats healthy the mites? that was the worst affected leave.

what damage/harm do mites cause the plant?

If left unchecked they breed bloody fast...couple of weeks and you have an infestation.....they will affect the plants health alot affecting yield dramatically....they can kill the plants if there is enough on them.

 

Get on top of them quick or they will become a big problem fast.

BTW: MiteRid is one alternative, eco-neem (an extract from neem trees) or neem oil are also suggested, as a foliar spray.

 

'red spotted mites', '2 spotted mites' and 'spider mites' all seem to be various names for the same mite, one of 40,000 species. I think you have mites, I'm not bettin on which variety :-)

Its strange because the active chemical in Mite-rid is the same as in neem oil. Yet neem oil is very hit and miss. I've seen it work when other times I'd swear, if I didn't know better, the mites fed on it Mite-rid works, and works well. Mites aren't something to pussyfoot around with. If they get out of hand you can kiss the crop goodbye.
