Single Plant Panty Setup

Hey All, How are we this Sunny Saturday Morning???

 

I got an idea last night for a pantry setup with the shelves all removed. I figured a halogen lighting system (Star light 220W Full Unit) affixsed to the top, a single pot and seed in the bottom, black plastic to jam into the doorframe, Should work right???

 

Look honestly, I have no idea how to grow (My Dad did, I don't) but I am an afficienado of medicinal pot and seriously need to start my own supply.

 

Please help Peoples, I just want a single plant setup thats very discreet.

There many ways of doing it but halogen lighting wont grow any plants you need clf's or a hid (high intensity discharge) lighting, and i wouldent go any bigger than a 250 in the area u want to use as u will start having heat probs.

 

What ever way u go u will need to have good ail flow through out the area you are using intake at the bottom and out take at the top...

Growing in your pantry sure sounds better than growing in your panties. What are the dimensions of the pantry? (you can keep your panty dimension to yourself).

Won't the missus need the pantry for groceries etc?

 

If you are in a high set house or a house sitting on a brick plinth I would be inclined to pull air up from a vent in the pantry floor.

 

As for the light, ditch the halogen as previously suggested.

 

I'd be inclined to use a 400w in a pantry space. Depending on the internal height you could cut a hole in the ceiling into the roof cavity and install a cool hood in the roof space with just the opening of the hood protruding the ceiling.

 

Connect the hood to a fan of sufficient size and exhaust into the roof cavity if there's a whirly bird installed or through a vent to the outside with some form of odour control.

 

What's your budget and the dimensions of the pantry?

Thanks Guys, Great suggestions! I will ditch the halogens but I don't know any of the terms your using for the other lights. Just tell me what there name is and where to buy em.

I was allready gonna put a Grille in th bottom right side for Air Intake and an Extraction Fan with Carbon Filter on the upper left side, near the light/s.

 

My budget is around $350 and my dimensions are roughly 6Ft High-18Inches Wide-18Inches long.

 

I dunno what size pot or soil or nutrients though

If your budget is only around 350 u will spend that on a carbon filter and the fan to use on it, the lighting setup u are looking at around 150 for a 250w that would be ballast shade and bulb, have a look on ebay i am sure u will find the things you need.

 

Just do a hydroponics search and it will bring up a lot of stuff, but it will give u a idea on price of things give or take a few $$ depending where u get the stuff from.

 

For a centrif fan u are looking at 150+, depending on size.

 

The carbon filter any thing from 150+

 

A 250w setup around the 150 mark, but u will have to factor in the price of postage if u go through ebay...
