Un1que2012 Posted December 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted December 3, 2009 The best method readily available in Aus is a product called De-Solv-It (a bio degradable citrus based cleaner) and a little salt, you only need enough to allow the salt to swish around for a few seconds then rinse well with hot water and it's done. Also a just a little PSA - BE FUCKING CAREFUL WHEN YOU CLEAN YOUR GLASSWARE.... I broke my Roor little sister last week in a incident in the sink That is all. If you're worried about any residue don't eat of anything that comes out of it. Seriously I've been doing it for years. Grommet is as good as the day I bought it. Comes out clean as a whistle. I will usually smear a little olive oil or saliva on the grommet before pushing the stem back in, saves abrasion of the rubber. The biggest risk is the glass falling over and striking something but if you put two of the plate rack prongs through the neck of the bong you'll be fine. JohnC Posted December 5, 2009 Report Share Posted December 5, 2009 I use an ultrasonic cleaner for this sort of thing,put it in ,close the lid an 60 secounds later it's spotless,,,plus it will get into corners an tight spots that are hard to get at with other methods.You won't get a large bong in the smaller versions but the average pipe or bubbler will fit no worries.Not cheap for real good ones at $250 to $1000,but I use my larger model in another hobby I have so it's all good. You can buy smaller/cheaper versions from art shops for cleaning bushes an such,,their only around $50 an not made for constant use, but they would be perfect for this sort of thing. Just smells so harsh to me and I'm worried I won't be able to get it off. So I use dishwashing liquid, add eucalyptus oil and go at it with an old toothbrush. Takes quite a while but after rinsing I can't taste any of it so it's all good. Had some near misses though. Slippery fingers are NOT GOOD!
