ROCKHAMPTON’S cops are doing such a good job of getting drugs off the street that the quantity and quality of marijuana has dropped and dealers have turned to lacing weed with other substances, a user claims.

While police and health authorities yesterday said they weren’t aware of these allegations and hadn’t seen any evidence of this in recent times, the man, 32, who contacted The Morning Bulletin yesterday, said he was concerned pot smokers with pre-existing health conditions were unknowingly putting themselves at risk.

He said he was a regular user who became a victim last week when he had to be rushed to hospital suffering what he thought was a heart attack.

He said his drug was laced with a methamphetamine.

“It was about 10 minutes after and I knew something was wrong,” said the man, who would not reveal his name.

“I felt weird, my heart was pumping out of my chest, literally it was thudding like a freight train.”

He said he was discharged after several hours at hospital.

The man believes laced marijuana is going around Rockhampton.

“There’s not a lot of pot about at the moment,” the man said.

He said supply was limited because of Schoolies and a recent police crackdown, which has seen several major busts in recent months.

“It’s made it much harder to get some,” the man said.

“I know people who are going out now and using other hard drugs.”

A police spokesman said he wasn’t aware of an increase in laced drugs.

He wasn’t making any apologies for helping get drugs off the streets.

“We continuously police the drug trade,” the spokesman said.

He said anyone who used drugs was taking a risk.

“It’s all bad and they’re playing Russian roulette with their lives,” he said.

A health spokesman said there was no evidence locally to back up the user’s concern.

I have to agree, I'm in QLD, I don't buy no shitty street weed but I get too see enough of the shit at mates houses. The past year I have seen buds that have what seriously seems like fucken sand on the buds.. You chop up and its gritty as fuck between ya fingers... Try smoke it just clogs the bong up. I've seen a 1/4oz in a bag with a 10c~ bit of sandy shit in the corner just from shit that fell off after it was bagged. (Even looks like sand with 20-30x magnification). I was almost thinking it was JWH -xxx those dodgy sounding synthetic cannabinoids you can buy off the net but that wouldn't b very cost effective.

Also seen cunts selling moldy as fuck (black mold) buds that people thought were rat shit.

The general public really needs to be educated, but the sad thing is most general smokers in QLD are fucken stupid and even if you told them their was something on the buds they'd smoke it anyway..... Makes me sick just thinking of smoking that gritty shit!!

If anyone knows what the fuck this sick shit is going on buds these days I'd like to hear about it. I'm suspect it could be this Brix+ here or something similar. The gritty shit taste more salty tho.

Lots of my good mates are stuck smoking this shit... but if it wasn't for the gritty shit there would be none...

Totally unsubstatiated claim made by ? anybody , nobody or an idiot? what a load of crock

if dealers who sold by weight were in short supply of Cannabis it would be easier and cheaper to sprinkle fine sand over buds and increase the weight by 20-30% ... what sorta dim-witted dealer laces weed with powders, its just not on

How the hell can you lace pot with ice ? ok lets say your gonna add .1 ( 50 dollars ) grams of ice to an oz , its that freaking small if you pulverise it it would only give you enough to sprinkle over a 5 cent piece , hardly noticable over an entire ounce , unless the weed is total shit this would really be a waste of good ice, and why would add 50 bux worth of it to any thing smaller , just losing money here - MYTHBUSTED

Everyone knows that the dodgy way to increase the weight of deals is to add ..... wait for it ........water :yinyang:

That stuff you talk about chunknugs could be badly dried and unflushed weed thats probably been overdosed with nutes , sounds like mineral salt deposits - a byproduct of nutes that should NOT be making it to harvest , better go buy a bra :scratchin:

Im with you Fraz what a load of shit. LIke theyd be throwing their money away lacing with speed. Those powdery crystals you see on commercial hydro is that brix+ crap they soak the buds in too add more weight.

The guy obviously had a panic attack/bad reaction/low tolerance/ and or health condition. Its obvious. Also they would have tested for speed in his blood in the hospital.

Oh well gotta make news outa somin or nufan. This is the latter..... :scratchin:

This kind of idiocy should be fought and countered at every turn. There is absolutely no reason to "lace" weed with anything, it does nothing for a dealers bottom line which is ultimately what they're working for. My money would be that the guy has simply smoked some meth on top of his buds knowingly and willingly, didn't like the reaction he had and then went to hospital. Fearing being looked at as a "meth head" he claims it was "laced" without his knowledge.

Anyone local here willing to write a letter to the editor to dispel this stupidity?

:scratchin: I don't see why it isn't entirely possible that anything could have been on the buds he smoked. True from an economic point things like speed etc are silly but there is plenty of other things used to increase bud weight such as Brix which has been mentioned or Liguid Lead which I think is what coolbuz was referring (just has a few facts muddled up) and whatever else the human mind has come up with. No one knows who grew the buds...they may have been the dodgiest grower on the planet.

I think the point is being missed here. Weather it was speed or something else, or if it was nothing and he just greened out. As long as he is stuck buying in an illegal market he has no fucking idea what he is smoking and is right to be concerned imo.

Fuck Prohibition and all the problems it causes.

Peace MongyMan
