SunPulse Lamps

Recommended Posts

Pah, just another product really, they go on about how good they are but have no real comparisons (no verified extra lumens or lamp life vs other lamps).

SunPulse Certification provides end users with the confidence of a "matched" digital bulb for their digital and electronic ballasts. Traditional 60 Hertz lamps can't be used with high frequency electronics; HPS, MF, etc. Getting the most out of your lighting system is imperative, because you pay money for the energy you use. A mis-matched ballast and lamp can cause numerous problems ranging from pre-mature failure, to the release of gases in the lamp.

Submitted ballasts go through a multitude of professional, rigorous tests in our laboratories before they are certified. Once the ballast is certified, we place a 2 year warranty on the lamp (600w and less) when used in conjunction with the certified ballast.

sounds good but in reality is mostly just blowing their own trumpet, if this were the case many of us would be having many dramas with digital ballasts and old globes :please:

Plus...

* Lumatek Note: warranty is void if used with dimmable Lumateks that have super Lumen Mode on 1000 watt ballast /Use 750 watt SP Lamps with LK 600 watt ballast with super lumen mode for warranty to be applicable / WARRING: Lamp must be started in full-power mode and must be operated in that mode for a minimum of fifteen minutes prior to reduced-power operation

So they are not all that fantastic anyway  mostly just marketing hype IMHO, there is no amazing new technology here, just a new spin on the same old gear.

:yahoo:

they recommend using Four different spectrum lamps for the different stages of the plant's life cycle ... wow @$150 per lamp

they plant one tree for every lamp sold . ... i plant about 10 tress for every lamp i buy :yahoo:

well the sunpulse site sais they are High pressure metal halides. Got me buggered as theres no info available on the net. I'll twiddle my thumbs I think now.

They are pulse start metal halide, full spectrum in various kelvin ratings. They emit UVA UVB and infa red. 3K is the all round flowering lamp, 6.4K for veg and 10K for resin production last ten days. Full spectrum light means the quality of the yield increases. Plants want the sun, these are the closest lamps to mimic the sun so far. They are the only lamps designed for electronic/digital ballasts but also work in HPS coil/core ballasts. We like them a lot.
