Dirty Stinkin Cane Toads

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

For a while now i couldnt figure out why some of my plants were torn out of the ground and squashed, last night i went out side to do my nightly watering and i found 3 canetoads sitting in my pots, had destroyed 3 of my prized plants, is there a simple solution to getting rid of these vermin (other than my usual sandwedge treatment). I dont really want to have to construct a wire mesh cage for my plants, as its not really in my guerilla growing nature. Any sort of home remedies would be helpful or just anything...please help my little babies....

lol

wish i knew what u are talking about  lol

Data's referring to the Backyard Fishing thread....

Short of building a cage to protect your gurls, I can't really think of anything.

I used to have cane toads digging in my potted plants when I was living at my old place. They would dig up my basil and make a mess of my spider plants. >:(

It pissed me off to the point that I had to move all my plants up on to a table instead of them being on the ground. :(

Bufotenin, one of the chemicals excreted by the cane toad, is classified as a Class 1 drug under Australian law, alongside heroin and marijuana. It is thought that the effects of bufotenin are similar to that of mild poisoning; the stimulation, which includes mild hallucinations, lasts for less than an hour. As the cane toad excretes bufotenin in small amounts, and other toxins in relatively large quantities, toad licking could result in serious illness or death.

Tell the police that you've discovered Class 1 drugs on your property.
