Pot Sizes?

Hey All,

 

What size pots would be best i have a fair number of 20 litre pots with a 34cm top on them, I have always grown in the ground so any help would be greatful, also when is the best time for transplanting from there smaller propergation pots, to there new home.

You want a pot about half the size of the bushes youre going to grow. Pot-up into it gradually so theres no over-watering/fertilizing issue. 20L can support a couple of feet.

I prefer 50 litre pots,,in the past when I used 20's I always got root bound plants and felt the end result was less than it could of been.

I don't allow plants to get to tall,,,,,,if that should be an issue,I'll just tye them down,as well as keep the light well down so their not stretching for it.

Other people use different methods with just as good results so picking brains and adapting to your situation is always called for,but for me nothing beats big pots,because a smaller pot forces a certain size plant,,while a big one doesn't.
