Need to find Government statistics?

Hey guys, i was searching for cannabis related government/police statistics and i came across this site, have lots of statistical info on drugs, cannabis, domestic abuse, just crime in general.

i was searching for a statistic relating to the amount of people under the influence of marijuana who have been caught driving (random checks and visible cause) compared to those under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, or accidents involving those two drugs. I havent been able to find it yet but if anyone else ends up having a browse please let me know if u find it.

It's late and I'm tired or I'd do it myself, but try checking the police press releases, should be on their site somewhere

Not sure if they have the exact stat your after, but the australian bureau of statistics collates a lot of data on crime, lifestyles and the like.

It's a pain in the arse, shite-load of info to wade through though (most often in vain, but easy to get sidetracked too).

If you are on a pension you can make a freedom of information request to any Government department asking them for the exact information you believe they hold, if you don't have a pension there will be a fee.

 

Freedom of information requests are a wonderful thing.

any idea how much the fee costs? or does it depend on what and the amount of information?

I think it depends who you are making the request to, these are the Victorian costs
