What's the best seed mix to use?

Not having any luck this year, all the mixes I've got have heaps of bark in them and the beans just aint shooting, although 2 did but they fell over after about a week and had no roots?

 

So any suggestions for a brand or type of seed raising mix for outdoors?

Hi mate, sorry to here bout the dramas.

 

I stand by 'Terracotta & Tub' Premium potting mix.......cost a bit more than the rest but is waaaaaaaaay worth it

hey everest where do u buy searles products? none at bunnings around here and flower power only have amgrow i think.

i get the searles from my local produce agency , ask around they may be able to order it in , pretty sure most garden centres around brizzy stock it ..

I have used this stuff a few times for seeds and it seems to do the job. Mixed at full strength the seeds love it, had 2 seedlings standing in just over 2 days after putting them into a soaked Chux towel for 24hrs then into presoaked Rockwool cubes, using a twin 18w flouro and a propagating tray. Cubes are fool proof as long as they can drain and aren't left sitting in a puddle of water/nutrient

I used Jiffy pellets in a little plastic green house, throw em in a 1/2 cup of water to expand, let them sit in there for a few mins, get them nice and soft, stick in a seed and wait, then i started adding seasol after they sprouted. worked for me
